“Hell is a teenage girl”

I truely believe that Jennifer’s Body, written and directed by Oscar winning Diablo Cody, was an AWESOME movie. It was advertised as a “scary” movie but it was so much more than that. This movie was a B movie with a million dollar budget and shined as a well written, wonderfully acted teen drama, comedy and hororr all rolled into one.

Megan Fox was a sexy HELL demon but the stand out star, to me, was Amanda Seyfried who played the best friend, Needy. She delievered every line, stare and best friend rage perfectly. I awed as I watched her love and loathe her best friend, kick orderlies, engage in teenage sex and know what is best in an awful situation.

Who doesn’t have a best friend since “the sandbox” that they love and loathe in the same day? Who doesn’t have feelings for a girl they shouldn’t? Who doesn’t keep someone around even though they know that person makes them feel awful about themselves? Who doesn’t think they are safe when they know they are not?

Please rent this movie and ready between the lines. The movie is making fun of slasher films while making a statement of what teenage life is really like.

While watching re runs of Bravo’s “Work of Art, the search for the next great American artist” I fell even more in love with Peregrine Honig. She is, to me, an artist that does art her way and you can see her in everything she creates. I feel connected to you P and I get it. This was my favorite piece, entitled “rainbow”, she did during the season. The assignment was “remembering childhood” Thank you for this work of art P.

50 cent CONTINUES to make anti-gay comments on his twitter feed. What does this mean and what can it ACTUALLY do? Well his anti-gay remarks such as “if you think of having sex with another man you should kill yourself now” can be read by his 3.3 MILLION followers. He is spreading hate and lots of it. It is bad enough that he is spreading messages of hate but has he read anything in the news recently, as in YESTERDAY about Tyler a student from Rutgers in NJ. Tyler jumped off a bridge because his roommate taped him, without his knowledge, having sex with another man. Then the roommate NAMED DHARUN RAVI went to his ichat and told his twitter followers to chat with him if they dare. The chat was the LIVE FEED video of Tyler having sex with a man. Tyler took his life b/c of this act.

YA KNOW WHAT 50 cent probably DID read this and though “one less gay guy in the world”. What an asshole! Hey 50 I hear your trying to be an actor, best of luck trying to get into show business b/c there’s tons of gays there and they run shit! F u 50! Last time I checked you were lucky to be alive, don’t make the Goddess take back giving you your life.

I believe there is a woman out there making Lady Gaga barbie dolls! Many of you know my GAGA obsession and I need to collect these. I can play with them and dress up some dollar store G. I. Okay everyone here it goes! I have many rants and pop culture raves in my pocket, actually my cell phone note pad and now it’s time to bring some out. I’m going to start with DANCING WITH THE STARS.

Even if you don’t watch this show I have to point out that it has become a juggernaut of ridiculous “stars”. When this show first started no one watched it. Let me take that back SOME people tuned in on Monday night. The group of people that did watch when there weren’t “stars” of media right NOW were, to quote my good friend Tori, “women surrounded by 23 cats and eating ice cream, from the carton” but the demographic has changed.

I started following DWTS around two seasons ago. I became intrigued and wanted to tune into the show after Kelly Osborne (Ozzy’s daughter who dabbled in singing, was on a reality - show which I loved- and tried to have a not too famous life) kicked butt in the competition and lost a TON of weight doing it. The show also began to pick up speed and more “stars” were signing on. When I say “stars” I’m referring to people in the media right NOW not from years ago. This past season I HAD to watch because the amazingly neurotic and hair crazed Kate Gosslin was going to be ”dancing.” She was HUGE in the media at the time the show started and it boosted the show to new heights and it didn’t disappoint. We saw her tantrums and stiff dancing moves.

Somehow we are on season 11 of this show! I can’t believe I tuned in so late but this seasons cast of “stars” is AMAZING by pop culture standards! More then half are “stars” of the media moment. We have:

DAVID “BAYWATCH” HASSLHOFF

MIKE “THE SITUATION” SORRENTINO

BRISTOL “I DON’T WANT TO BE FAMOUS’ PALIN

MARGARET “ASIAN AMERICAN BISEXUAL HOMO LOVING COMIC” CHO

FLORENCE “MRS. BRADY” FENDERSON

AUDRINA “THE HILLS ARE FAKE” PATRIDGE

MICHAEL “I HAD A MULLET” BOLTON

JENNIFER ‘NO ONE PUTS BABY IN A CONNER” GREY

BRANDY “THE BOY IS MINE”

and a few more who I don’t really know so we shall see if they win me over and become worthy of blogging

I don’t think this season will have a villain who we route for as last season did with Kate G but I do know people will be watching and Mike “The Situation” will only be wearing a shirt 2 episodes out of his time on the show. I mean come on we have to give something to those long time ice cream eating women who sat through Joey McIntyre dancing, right?
